Summary: The role of OLE CAD Technician involves supporting rail design projects through high-quality 2D/3D CAD modelling and drawing management. The position is based on-site in Speke, Liverpool, and requires expertise in BIM and CAD reporting. The technician will collaborate with engineers to ensure compliance with standards and smooth project delivery. This is a contract position expected to last for 6 months or longer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage CAD models and drawings in Bentley MicroStation V8i
- Support design development and ensure compliance with standards
- Organise and maintain CAD files
- Produce CAD quality reports and technical documents
- Collaborate with engineers for smooth project delivery
Key Skills:
- Skilled in 2D/3D drafting with MicroStation V8i
- Strong BIM knowledge and CAD QA/reporting
- Experienced with ProjectWise
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Understanding of rail project life cycles
- Experience in related engineering disciplines
- Familiarity with Bentley Rail Track and OS Digital Mapping
- Revit experience is a plus

The opportunity
Our client is currently looking for an experienced OLE CAD Technician to support rail design projects through high-quality 2D/3D CAD modelling and drawing management. This role will be based in Speke, Liverpool (On-site in the office Full-Time) Contract: 6 months + (ongoing)
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Create and manage CAD models and drawings in Bentley MicroStation V8i
- Support design development and ensure compliance with standards
- Organise and maintain CAD files
- Produce CAD quality reports and technical documents
- Collaborate with engineers for smooth project delivery
You will have the following qualifications and experience
- Skilled in 2D/3D drafting with MicroStation V8i
- Strong BIM knowledge and CAD QA/reporting
- Experienced with ProjectWise
- Strong communication and teamwork
- Understanding of rail project life cycles
It's great if you also have the following
- Experience in related engineering disciplines
- Familiarity with Bentley Rail Track and OS Digital Mapping
- Revit experience is a plus
