Summary: The role of Commissioning Manager for an offshore wind farm project involves planning, coordinating, and managing pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure project completion. The position requires adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards while liaising with clients and third-party providers. The manager will also develop comprehensive documentation and reporting structures to track project progress and compliance. This role demands a strong background in electrical engineering and site commissioning management, with a focus on high voltage equipment and offshore wind farm operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to a detailed commissioning schedule and plan.
  • Prepare and update a comprehensive commissioning manual.
  • Develop a reporting structure and accountabilities for the commissioning team.
  • Coordinate commissioning/start-up schedules with third-party providers.
  • Develop pre-commissioning test procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance and progress reports are produced according to client and legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with government agencies for necessary approvals prior to start-up.
  • Prepare client acceptance forms and ensure satisfactory sign-off is obtained.
  • Develop quality, environment, and safety commissioning plans.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety standards, policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Experience in site commissioning management, including Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience planning and executing site commissioning activities for LV and HV equipment.
  • Understanding of offshore wind farm construction and commissioning phases.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Experience in developing commissioning programmes and supporting procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
