Summary: The Offshore QA/QC Inspector is responsible for conducting quality inspections during wind turbine installation, pre-energisation, and commissioning activities offshore in the UK. This role involves ensuring compliance with the Project Quality Plan and applicable safety standards while acting as the main QA/QC contact. The inspector will also manage deviations and support various teams to ensure timely completion of documentation and activities. The position requires a GWO certification and relevant experience in the offshore wind sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main QA/QC point of contact offshore during WTG installation, pre-energisation, and final walkdowns.
- Plan and coordinate inspection readiness with Vessel Supervisors and Offshore Quality teams.
- Conduct inspections in accordance with approved Offshore ITPs and project quality procedures.
- Review and approve Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and quality records following offshore activities.
- Identify, record, and manage deviations, defects, and non-conformities, ensuring timely close-out.
- Support mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams with punch list and completion activities.
- Ensure offshore documentation is completed accurately and issued to the client in a timely manner.
- Promote continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and quality feedback.
- Actively support and comply with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements.
Key Skills:
- GWO-certified.
- Proven experience as a QA/QC, mechanical, electrical, or commissioning inspector within offshore wind.
- Technical or engineering qualification in mechanical or electrical disciplines.
- Knowledge of offshore quality and safety standards, including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Understanding of fabrication, assembly, NDT, coatings, and HV electrical systems.
- Comfortable working offshore, outdoors, and at height.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive and organised approach to work.
