Summary: The Offshore Methods Engineer/Lead role involves managing the method engineering group for offshore installation projects, specifically focusing on Rigid Pipelines and Rigid Pipelay. This position is based in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work. The successful candidate will provide technical and administrative guidance to ensure project objectives are met efficiently. The role is outside IR35 and is expected to last for an initial 6 to 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer the working programme to ensure implementation in accordance with plans, design, and specifications.
- Interpret, implement, and improve proposed design solutions.
- Initiate and maintain filing systems, document review, and distribution through subordinate staff.
- Monitor and coordinate all phases of work progress, reviewing procedures, reports, and calculations of subordinate engineers.
- Ensure technical coordination with the Client, including attendance at interface meetings.
- Coordinate with the technical responsible on board the vessel and provide backup to the installation team.
- Ensure all checklists and installation records are completed according to procedures and passed to the QC Coordinator.
- Participate in critical offshore tasks to ensure performance according to methodology and provide feedback.
- Attend sites and carry out inspections to ensure all requirements have been met.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in construction methods activities for pipeline landfall in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry.
- Relevant degree or diploma.
- OEUK medical certification.
- Technical skills in team management and pipeline methods.
- Experience with landfall methodologies.

Offshore Methods Engineer/ Lead

Offshore Methods Engineers/ Leads are required to work on long term contracts for an offshore installation contractor based in Kingston-upon-Thames, Surrey. The roles will require experience of Rigid Pipelines/ Rigid Pipelay in relation to offshore installation projects
As Offshore Methods Lead, you will report to the Installation Methods manager. You will be part of our BP NEP Project (Carbon Capture and Net Zero). You will manage the coordination the activities of the method engineering group, tasks and workload providing technical and administrative guidance to the subordinate staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.

As the Offshore Methods Engineer/ Lead, you will administer the working programme to ensure its implementation in accordance with plans, design and specifications
Be responsible for interpretation, implementation and improvement of the proposed design solutions
As the Offshore Methods Engineer/ Lead, you will initiate and maintain filing system, document review and distribution, through subordinate staff
Monitor and coordinate all phases of the work progress and review procedures, reports and calculations of subordinate engineers, ensuring that deliverables, equipment, facilities and services meet specified requirements
As the Offshore Methods Engineer/ Lead, you will ensure technical coordination with Client, including attendance at interface meetings
Coordinate with the technical responsible on board of the vessel, in addition to providing backup to the installation team and advising the Vessel management on technical aspects of the job
Be additionally responsible for ensuring that all checklists and other installation records are completed in accordance with the procedures and passed to the QC Coordinator for compilation
As the Offshore Methods Engineer/ Lead, you will participate to the critical offshore tasks to ensure their performance according to methodology and ensure the relevant feedback and lesson learned
Attend sites and carry out inspections to ensure that all the requirements have been met
