Key Skills:
- Registered Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register.

- Health Surveillance experience or willingness to develop.
- Experience in managing difficult situations with clear judgement.
- Ability to write complex information for various audiences.
- Knowledge of occupational health integration with Council services.
- Basic DBS check.

4Recruitment Services are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse for our client based in Kirklees. The post holder will be based in the Employee Healthcare Unit (EHU), Kirklees Councils in-house occupational health service, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a service to both internal and external customers. You will assist in the delivery of a range of services which meet the operational needs of their customers, focused on maintaining employee health and managing sickness absence in order to contribute specifically to Council policies on sickness absence management, attendance strategies and human resource management more generally. The post holder will be required to work 3 days per week between Monday – Thursday, between 8/8:30am to 4/4:30pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Undertake occupational health assessments and provide objective advice and guidance to managers and their employees to support positive attendance at work.
- Carry out pre-employment screening and determine fitness for work, giving appropriate advice and support for prospective employees and new starters.
- Support the wider EHU team in the delivery of a range of health surveillance, vaccination programmes, and Wellbeing activities.
- Work closely with other members of the EHU team to help ensure services are being provided effectively, within ethical and professional standards and within budget.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new EHU initiatives, adapting easily to change, and making best use of available technology and resources.
- Improve the customer experience by developing a strong partnership approach with managers and keeping up to date with best occupational health practices and information.
- Use innovation and creativity to help ensure we have an effective EHU service, with policies, procedures and approaches which are fit for purpose
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Must be a Registered Nurse on part 1 of the NMC register
- Experience in Occupational Health
- Occupational Health qualification (Diploma or degree) or willing to work towards this.
- Health Surveillance experience/ willingness to develop
- Good experience of managing difficult situations, using clear judgement to advise others
- Experience of handling difficult situations and problems and resolving them effectively
- Experience of writing complex information in formats suitable for a variety of audiences
- Knowledge of how occupational health integrates with other Council services to provide and efficient and effective service
- Basic DBS check
