Summary: The Nuclear CE&I Power Systems Design Engineer will be integral to the Sellafield Electrical Distribution Network Upgrade Project, focusing on electrical modelling using ETAP and ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards. The role involves producing fault level calculations, protection reports, and arc flash assessments while guiding updates to engineering standards. This position offers a technically challenging opportunity within a high-profile nuclear infrastructure upgrade. Security clearance is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain electrical modelling capability using ETAP.
- Produce and validate fault level calculations, protection reports, and arc flash assessments.
- Ensure designs align with nuclear safety, operational integrity, and compliance standards.
- Provide expert input on 11kV and 400V protection & control systems.
- Support multidisciplinary teams and contribute to engineering reviews.
- Guide updates to project engineering standards and design best practices.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in BS EN 60909 fault calculations.
- Experience with 11kV & 400V substation design.
- Familiarity with Sellafield Design Processes and nuclear design governance.
- Competency with tools such as Trimble, ERACs, or Digsilent.
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 and SCADA systems within power networks.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards chartership.
