Summary: The Networks Product Owner at FDM is responsible for defining and delivering the vision for network infrastructure products within the public sector. This hybrid role requires collaboration with stakeholders to prioritize features and guide the development team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial control. The position demands strong leadership in agile product delivery and technical expertise in network solutions. The contract is initially for 6 months with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for the network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into a product backlog.
- Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation related to product requirements, decisions, and releases.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of the Network estate, including planning, deployment, and retirement of hardware and software.
- Ensure that all Network products adhere to the company's security standards and compliance requirements.
- Oversee the scheduling and deployment of software updates, patches, and upgrades.
- Work with the SACM Product team to maintain an accurate inventory of all network devices.
- Oversee the resolution of complex technical incidents and problems.
- Manage O365 licensing to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years in a product owner or product management role.
- Ability to design and understand complex network topologies and architectures.
- Skills in managing network-related projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Familiarity with switching protocols like STP, VLANs, and Trunking.
- Awareness of security protocols including IPsec, SSL/TLS, and AAA (RADIUS, TACACS+).
- Understanding of application layer protocols such as HTTP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with network devices from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.
- Familiarity with wireless networking standards and equipment.
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Proficient in ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
