Summary: The Network Test & Quality Engineer/Analyst role involves creating test scripts, executing test cases, and providing guidance on network infrastructure connectivity. Candidates must have experience in networking, specifically with Cisco equipment, and be eligible for or hold SC clearance. The position requires both technical skills in network testing and practical experience in network design and implementation. The role is hybrid, requiring occasional site visits to liaise with the wider test team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create test scripts from test plans and test definition documents.
- Work on low-level designs for network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Provide guidance for connectivity of Cat6 and optical fibre.
- Understand test phases and stages of network testing.
- Execute test cases and manage test case documentation in ALM.
- Collect test execution evidence and report defects in ALM.
- Assist in network design and implementation.
- Provide network support across various operating systems.
- Oversee local area network and wide area network operations.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.
Key Skills:
- Cisco Routing & Switching, Firewall, Network engineering.
- CCNA/CCNP certification.
- Experience with network testing tools (e.g., IXIA, ALM).
- Handling fibre optic cables.
- Understanding of data centre operating procedures.
- Set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing.
- Knowledge of automated network and service management (e.g., StableNet).
- Ability to understand network infrastructure design from HLD/LLD.
- ALM test case management and defect management.
