Summary: The Network Test Engineer with Management Skills will be responsible for creating test scripts and executing various test phases for network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. The role requires practical skills in handling network equipment and understanding data center operations, while also supporting the transition and transformation of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity. Candidates should ideally have SC clearance or be willing to obtain it, with flexibility required for potential breaks in the contract. Experience with the National Grid is a plus but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test scripts from Test Plans / Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure.
  • Understand and execute various test phases: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance.
  • Import test cases to ALM and link to requirements.
  • Collect test execution evidence and report execution/defects in ALM.
  • Set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing.
  • Interpret Network infrastructure design from HLD/LLD.
  • Manage test cases and defects in ALM.

Key Skills:

  • Test Analyst skills.
  • Practical skills with Cisco Switch/Router console commands.

Test Analyst skills

  • Create test scripts from Test Plans / Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure (Routers / switches / firewalls)
  • Understand Test phases purposes: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance)

Overview

The role has to be based in the UK, and can start to gain SC clearance or has SC clearance already. The role is to support a Programme in the transition & transformation of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity. Any experience of working on National Grid would be advantageous but not essential.

Duration: Expected full-time but due to the fluidity there may be some small breaks (unlikely but just as a safety net) so need flexibility to pause the resource effort but will be given notice as much as in advance
