Summary: The Network Test Engineer with Management Skills is a contract position focused on testing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls. The role requires the creation of test scripts, execution of various test phases, and management of test cases and defects using ALM. Candidates must possess practical skills in network equipment and procedures, alongside the ability to interpret network designs. Active SC clearance or eligibility is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test scripts from Test Plans / Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure (Routers / switches / firewalls)
  • Understand Test phases purposes: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance
  • Import test cases to ALM and link to requirements
  • Collect Test execution evidence, Reporting execution / defect in ALM
  • Set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing
  • Interpret Network infrastructure design from HLD/LLD
  • ALM Test case management, Defect Management, Reporting

Key Skills:

  • Test Analyst skills
  • Practical skills in Cisco Switch / Router console commands
  • Handling Fibre optic cables
  • Understanding of Data Centre operating procedures
  • Knowledge of Network and Service Management tool set (e.g. StableNet)

  • JD Deliverables – required for SoW and to measure fulfilment of role.
  • Describe the measurable activities and the stages which they are required to be provided
  • Test Analyst skills
  • Create test scripts from Test Plans / Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure (Routers / switches / firewalls)
  • Understand Test phases purposes: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance)
