Network Test Engineer (SC Cleared)

Summary: The Network Test Engineer role requires an individual with active SC Security Clearance to support a critical national infrastructure network connectivity transformation programme. This 6-month hybrid contract based in Newbury involves extensive experience in network infrastructure testing, particularly with Cisco devices and RFC 2544 testing. The position offers the opportunity to work with a global IT services consultancy in the Telecoms domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity transformation programme.
• Create test scripts from Test Plans and Low Level Designs for network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Utilize Cisco Switch/Router console commands and set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing.
• Handle fibre optic cabling and manage test case execution evidence and defect management in ALM.
• Use StableNet Network and Service Management tools.
• Interpret network infrastructure design from HLD/LLD and understand Data Centre operating procedures.
• Preferably possess experience in the Telecoms/National Network Infrastructure domain.

Key Skills:

• Active SC Security Clearance.
• Experience in network infrastructure testing (Cisco Switches/Routers/Firewalls).
• Familiarity with RFC 2544 testing and network connectivity testing.
• Ability to create test scripts and manage test cases.
• Proficiency in using StableNet Network and Service Management tools.
• Understanding of Data Centre operating procedures.
• Experience in the Telecoms/National Network Infrastructure domain preferred.
