Summary: The Network Test Engineer role is a contract position focused on supporting the transition and transformation of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) network connectivity. The engineer will be responsible for creating test scripts, executing tests, and managing defects within the network infrastructure. Candidates must have active SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it, and experience with the National Grid is a plus. The position requires flexibility due to potential breaks in resource effort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test scripts from Test Plans and Low Level Designs for network infrastructure.
  • Understand and execute various test phases including Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster Recovery, and Operational Acceptance.
  • Import test cases to ALM and link them to requirements.
  • Collect test execution evidence and report execution/defects in ALM.
  • Set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing.
  • Interpret network infrastructure design from High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD).
  • Utilize Network and Service Management tools such as StableNet.

Key Skills:

  • Test Analyst skills with experience in network infrastructure testing.
  • Practical skills in Cisco Switch/Router console commands.
  • Ability to handle fibre optic cables.
  • Understanding of Data Centre operating procedures.
  • Knowledge of ALM for test case management and defect management.
  • Active SC clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
