Summary: The Network Test Engineer role involves creating and executing test scripts for network infrastructure, requiring both analytical and practical skills. Candidates must have or be eligible for live SC clearance and will work on a day rate contract outside of IR35. The position is hybrid, allowing for a mix of remote and on-site work. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test scripts from Test Plans/Low Level Designs for Network infrastructure (Routers/Switches/firewalls)
  • Understand Test phases purposes: Unit, System Integration, Functional, Non-Functional, Disaster recovery, Operation Acceptance)
  • Import test cases to ALM and link to requirements
  • Collect Test execution evidence, Reporting execution/defect in ALM
  • Cisco Switch/Router console commands
  • Handling Fibre optic cables
  • Understanding of Data Centre operating procedures
  • Set up network test equipment for RFC 2544 testing
  • Network and Service Management tool set (eg StableNet)
