Summary: The Network Technical Architect will oversee the design and implementation of network solutions for projects within a portfolio, collaborating with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Lead Architects. This role requires a strong focus on aligning network solutions with business requirements and governance processes. The position is based in Bristol on a 12-month hybrid contract, requiring in-office attendance twice a week. Security clearance is essential for this role, which operates within a secure environment, particularly in the defence sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and guidance for network solutions delivered within the Programme working with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers.
• Understand business requirements and work within a team of architects to deliver solutions that meet the business requirements, focusing on the network elements of the solution.
• Work with the Programme Lead Architect to ensure that network solutions are aligned to current and emerging enterprise patterns and standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on networking best practices.
• Ensure that governance processes relating to the network architecture are followed.

Key Skills:

• Demonstrable network architecture experience, ideally within the defence sector (or a secure environment).
• Experienced in the architecture, design, build and operation of network solutions including WAN, LAN, datacentre and network technologies in secure environments.
• Experienced working with 3rd party suppliers and ensuring that solutions delivered align with architecture standards and policies.
• Experienced in network security including NDR, EDR, XDR, Firewalls, crypto devices and NAC.
• An understanding of the MOD Secure by Design approach would be beneficial.
• Experience of working in a complex business environment working with multiple stakeholders and teams.
