The Role
You'll be responsible for: Providing 3rd-line network and security support across a complex banking environment.
Investigating and resolving BAU incidents, faults and service issues.
Troubleshooting across multiple network and security technologies.
Working as part of a team that is continuing to consolidate systems, access and processes following a merger.
Supporting occasional project and change activity alongside the core BAU workload.
Participating in scheduled out-of-hours changes, typically Friday evening through Sunday, with the workload shared across the team.
Working closely with the NOC, which provides the primary on-call coverage.
Maintaining a high standard of technical documentation, investigation and incident resolution.
Key Requirements
8+ years' experience in network implementation, support or network security engineering.
CCNP certified as a minimum baseline.
Strong hands-on network and security troubleshooting experience.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
A proactive approach and strong work ethic - attitude and approach are as important as certifications.
Comfortable working within an environment where systems, processes and access arrangements are still being consolidated following a merger.
Experience working in a high-availability or business-critical environment is highly desirable, particularly within financial services / banking.
Technical Skills
Strong experience across a number of the following: Cisco CCNP / CCIE-level networking, Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco ASA, Cisco ACI Fabrics - implementation and troubleshooting, Fortinet Firewalls, Palo Alto Firewalls, Network security and firewall troubleshooting, Complex routing, switching and connectivity troubleshooting.
