Summary: The Network Structured Cabling Designer will play a crucial role in the expansion of Heathrow Airport's IT infrastructure, focusing on the design and implementation of structured cabling systems. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in structured cabling design, ensuring compliance with international standards and regulations. The role involves both office-based design work and on-site presence, coordinating with various engineering disciplines and stakeholders. Candidates must hold RCDD or CNCDP qualifications to be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design solutions involving network products and cabling infrastructure.
- Develop and implement structured cabling systems, including fibre optic and copper cabling.
- Prepare detailed design specifications, technical drawings, and documentation.
- Conduct site surveys and assess existing infrastructure for cabling requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and construction teams for seamless integration.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Produce and present technical reports and presentations to stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with cabling infrastructure.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structured cabling design.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing fibre optic and copper cabling systems.
- Thorough understanding of CDM 2015 regulations.
- Excellent knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft toolsets, AutoCAD, and relevant design software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with the design lifecycle from analysis to customer handover.
- RCDD or CNCDP accreditation.
