Requirements for SOW / JD for recruiting a Service Designer

A Service High-Level Design (SHLD) document

Update the customer-facing high-level overview of the service solution which can be used in conjunction with the Programme’s work-package for designing, building and establishing the Service Model that is compliant with the contract. This can be used to gain customer approval for the design.

RACI model

Provides a high-level overview of the activities involved in the build and run phases, and identifies while roles are responsible, accountable, consulted and informed throughout. This is generally included as an artefact linked to the SHLD.

Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)

The RTM provides a structure to collate the customer requirements (whether directly provided or derived) and ability to track compliance. It ensures that all requirements have been addressed by one or more aspects of the design. The RTM allows you to feel confident your solution meets the requirements and demonstrate this to the customer and stakeholders. Ensures that requirements are captured and can be tested.

Business Change Activities

For technical tooling implemented during the Transition Programme (i.e. Totuus, IPAM and Data Miner) ensure that:

  • Business Requirements have been captured
  • Create Gap-Analysis between what is delivered and Business Requirements
  • Share Gap-Analysis with internal design teams / suppliers as relevant to drive technical changes
  • Manage migration of data from existing tools (i.e. Excel based Database) to new tools (i.e. Totuus)
  • Creation of high-level training materials for new tooling for Business Users
  • Creation of Local Working Instructions (LWI) for roles that are required to support the solution and the service post implementation
  • Tbc, there may be a requirement to train new users on the new tooling, on the back of the training material and LWI creations.

Service Model

A diagram or spreadsheet that provides a view of the different solution components (e.g. circuit, outer, switch, etc.) and which specific team will provide each aspect of support (e.g. monitoring, 1st, 2nd, 3rd line support). This allows us to then identify which people, process and tooling interfaces will be required.

Resource model (contractual model already agreed)

A confirmation of the resources required to provide in-life operational support to support the agreed service model: confirm if we have the correct structure in place to support the services in accordance with the contract and performance metrics, if not suggest changes to be proposed to the Vodafone Business and Customer.

Recommended Low-Level Design and transition deliverables

Process flow diagrams and process narratives for each of the ITSM processes (e.g. incident and change management).

Update the Business Operations Manual (BOM).

Service Catalogue.

Ensure that operational resources are recruited and training is fulfilled.

Ensure that tools and systems access is provisioned.

Onboarding plan (to onboard each of the operational support teams).

Service Readiness Test plan, with applicable test scripts and acceptance criteria.

Local Work Instructions as required for each of the functions.
