Summary: The Network Security Consultant role at Atrium involves supporting secure change activities across Firewall and Proxy infrastructure for a major financial services client. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing and approving changes, ensuring compliance with security policies, and collaborating with internal teams. Candidates must reside within a short commute of Cheshire and have recent experience in the financial services sector. The position requires a mandatory on-site presence two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve Firewall/Proxy changes in line with security policy and risk appetite
- Become a Skybox SME and support policy configuration
- Enforce compliance, monitor reporting, and support audits
- Identify service improvement opportunities and drive automation where possible
- Engage with stakeholders to promote secure solutions and resolve issues
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Firewall types, Proxy tech, ports/protocols, and network security
- Clear understanding of the OSI model, routing/switching, and Firewall rule behaviour
- Experience with Firewall management tools and change review/sign-off
- Able to explain technical security risks to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail; able to work under pressure and meet SLAs
- Experience with Skybox or willingness to upskill
- Familiarity with financial services, cloud security, and cryptographic principles
- Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.) a plus

Atrium are on the lookout for an experienced Network Security Consultant to support secure change activities across Firewall and Proxy infrastructure for a major financial services client. You'll act as the gatekeeper for Firewall/Proxy changes, ensure compliance with security policies, and collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders.
To be considered, you must live within a short commute of Cheshire - ideally in the Northwest. You must also have recent experience working with top-level financial services clients.
Day rate: £500-£550 per day (inside)
Location: Cheshire - 2 days per week onsite is mandatory
Duration: 12-month initial contract
