Summary: The Network Security Architect will lead the transformation of IT infrastructure within a two-year fixed-term contract, focusing on designing and implementing a secure and scalable enterprise network. This role involves strategic planning and collaboration with stakeholders to align network solutions with business goals while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards. The architect will also oversee the deployment of advanced security measures and mentor colleagues in best practices. The position is based in Central Manchester, requiring on-site presence two days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the design and delivery of the client’s Network Modernisation Programme.
- Developing secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures, including software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud integration.
- Overseeing the deployment of Cisco ISE, NAC policies, and Zero Trust principles.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to align network strategy with business and digital transformation goals.
- Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Leading on network performance optimisation, automation, and operational efficiency.
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring colleagues in network security architecture.
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience in network and security architecture.
- Strong expertise in enterprise networking and cloud-based solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies (ISE, Catalyst, SD-WAN, DNA Center).
- Deep knowledge of authentication protocols (802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+), firewalls, VPNs, and NAC.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust security principles and network segmentation.
- Experience in leading large-scale network transformation projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
