Job Description Overview Specialist Engineer for VF National Gas Account Roles & Responsibilities Configuring routers and switches in line with the design documents (IP data perspective). Onboarding devices onto network management platform. Racking and staking relevant devices in Data Centres. Attending internal meetings and working closely with the project managers to agree and deliver project implementation plan. Good knowledge of Cisco LAN and Wireless LAN technologies, including switching and IP addressing best practice. Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment. Good interpersonal skills with effective communication. Expert of Cisco routers and switches (examples: 3850s, Nexus 9k, ISRs, ASRs etc.). Experience in configuring networks in a managed data-networking environment coupled with a networking qualification.
Requirements 20-40% of average travel is required SC Clearance Required Transferrable SC required. Candidates will be required to provide out of hours standby support (min. 1 in 6 ROTA basis), with a requirement to travel to a location if a physical intervention is required during incident management (rare occurrence).
