Network Engineer – SC Cleared

Summary: The role of Network Engineer requires an experienced professional with active SC clearance to support a high-profile programme through the design and maintenance of complex network systems. The position involves working with technologies from Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco, focusing on security and performance optimization in a hybrid work environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networks (firewalls, routers, switches)
• Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and data centre operations
• Support and configure application load balancers/reverse proxies (F5, NGINX, HAProxy)
• Implement network segmentation, zero-trust models, and secure connectivity
• Collaborate with architecture teams and lead on strategic design and delivery
• Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot network performance
• Own firmware upgrades, patching, documentation, and DR planning
• Liaise with vendors and manage escalations

Key Skills:

• 5+ years experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networks
• In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VXLAN EVPN, ACLs, IPsec VPNs, and multicast
• Hands-on with public and private cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware NSX)
• Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible) and Git-based deployment workflows
• Skilled in traffic analysis, packet capture, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Strong documentation, change control, and team collaboration abilities
