Summary: The Network Engineer role involves working on-site in Barrow-in-Furness, collaborating with project managers and support teams to deliver network solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Client Project Managers, SMEs, and Architects to deliver projects on time.
  • Work closely with support teams to ensure seamless integration of project work.
  • Undertake equipment installations and configuration activities for complex solutions.
  • Perform infrastructure surveys, both wired and wireless.
  • Get involved in office moves, adds, and changes.
  • Perform technical refresh of network hardware and cabling.
  • Configure core infrastructure components such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Conduct impact assessments on large or complex networks.
  • Perform testing according to pre-determined plans and analyze results.

Key Skills:

  • At least 5 years of experience in Network Engineering roles.
  • Experience in configuring network systems, including switching, routing, and firewalling.
  • Typically qualified to Cisco CCNA level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of network security, VPNs, and broadband technologies.
  • Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Voice infrastructures.
  • Understanding of racking, cabling, and containment systems.
  • Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas is an advantage.
  • Demonstrates competencies in change management and versatility.
  • Adherence to company values.

Role Title: Network Engineer
Location: BARROW IN FURNESS, Cumbria, - Full onsite.
Duration: 6 months

Role Description:

  • Who you'll be working with:
  • You will be working on a client site, in collaboration with Client Project Managers, SMEs and Architects to deliver projects on time and above customer expectation.
  • You will be working closely with support teams and other functions to ensure seamless integration of project work to the Run service.

The focus of your role:

  • Undertaking a range of equipment installations and configuration activities for complex or high business impact solutions.
  • Performing infrastructure surveys, wired and wireless.
  • Get involved in office moves, adds, changes
  • Perform technical refresh of network hardware and cabling.
  • Configuring core infrastructure components eg Switches, Routers, Firewalls, load balancers, voice systems etc.
  • Performing impact assessments on large or complex networks.
  • Performing testing to pre-determined plans and analyse results.

What you will bring:

  • Expected to have undertaken other Network Engineering roles for at least 5 years.
  • Have demonstrable experience of configuring Network systems, switching, routing, Firewalling, load balancing and voice.
  • Will typically be qualified to Cisco CCNA level or vendor equivalent accreditations
  • Will be able to demonstrate knowledge of networks including network security, virtual private networking (VPN) converged networks and broadband technologies.
  • Will have the ability to install, configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Voice network Infrastructures for enterprise organisations.
  • Understand racking, cabling and containment systems and standards.
  • An advantage will be Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas
  • Demonstrates behavioural competencies associated with frequent change, urgency and versatility
  • Will be aware of Company values and demonstrate adherence to them

Special Requirements or Accreditations:

  • Required to work 5 days per week in Barrow-in-Furness site.
  • Will not have left the country for more than 28 consecutive days within the last 5 years.
