Key Responsibilities:
- Support ongoing network operations in a secure defense environment.

- Configure and maintain HPE switches.
- Travel to a secondary site in Salisbury as required.
Key Skills:
- Experience with network infrastructure in secure or enterprise environments.
- Hands-on configuration and maintenance of Fortinet Firewalls and Fortinet Analyzer.
- Hands-on configuration and maintenance of HPE switches.
- Exposure to VMware environments (desirable).
- Familiarity with secure communication systems such as BOWMAN (bonus).
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Active SC Clearance.

We are urgently looking for a Network Engineer, required to support a secure defence environment on a short-term 3 months contract running through to the end of July. You must hold active SC Clearance to be considered for this position.
As a Network Engineer, you’ll support ongoing network operations, assist with configuration and troubleshooting, and contribute to scheduled exercises and system changes.
Requirements:
- Experience working with network infrastructure in secure or enterprise environments
- Hands-on configuration and maintenance of Fortinet Firewalls and Fortinet Analyzer
- Hands-on configuration and maintenance of HPE switches
- Exposure to VMware environments (desirable)
- Familiarity with secure communication systems such as BOWMAN is a bonus
- Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to work in a fast-paced infrastructure environment
- Active SC Clearance is essential
This role will be based full-time onsite in Portsmouth, with regular travel to a secondary site in Salisbury (travel expenses covered). The role is primarily Monday to Friday, with the occasional requirement for weekend work and shift-based activities depending on operational needs.
