Summary: The role of Network Engineer involves designing, configuring, testing, and implementing network and security solutions within Cisco and Fortinet environments. This hands-on position requires technical execution in a live infrastructure setting and collaboration with project management to ensure timely delivery. The contract is for three months, with an immediate start date, and is based onsite at Stockley Park. No security clearance is required, but BPSS eligibility is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, write, and validate configurations for Fortinet SD-WAN solutions, Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Nexus switches, and Cisco LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure.
- Modify and optimise configurations on existing network equipment.
- Prepare and implement configurations for new network hardware.
- Load configurations onto devices and perform validation testing.
- Support network changes, cutovers, and migrations.
- Implement routing and switching configurations.
- Design and apply firewall and network security policies.
- Troubleshoot configuration issues during and after implementation.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to meet project timelines.
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet SD-WAN and Fortinet Firewalls.
- Experience with Cisco Nexus platforms.
- Proficiency in Cisco LAN and Wi-Fi.
- Solid understanding of routing and switching.
- Experience in firewall and network security design.
- Proven ability to write, load, and validate configurations.
