Summary: The Network Engineer (NE) role focuses on coordinating with various stakeholders to implement and verify network designs, particularly in migrating existing infrastructure to SD-WAN. The position requires expertise in multi-OEM technologies and involves responsibilities such as firewall configuration, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with design documents. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in networking and a strong understanding of both hardware and software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Design Engineers, Project Managers, and Field Technicians.
- Handle implementation as per guidelines from Design Engineers.
- Verify implementation according to the Implementation Design document and SOPs.
- Migrate existing infrastructure to SD-WAN with multi-OEM migrations.
- Perform Software (OS) upgrades and Hardware refreshes for various WAN circuits.
- Understand existing hardware, software, and networking systems.
- Work on multi-OEM SD-WAN technologies and hardware interfaces.
- Configure firewalls across multiple OEMs.
- Make minor template changes post consultation with Design Engineers.
- Engage with Design Engineers for major design changes.
- Handle Routing, Switching, and Wireless deployments.
- Resolve technical issues related to networks, hardware, and software.
- Conduct speed and security tests on installed networks.
- Protect customer proprietary network information and project assets.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, or related field.
- 9 to 10 years of experience as a network engineer.
- Knowledge of Cisco and multi-OEM technologies (Cisco/Juniper/Aruba).
- Experience with multi-OEM SD-WAN technologies (Viptela/Versa/Silver Peak/Palo Alto/Meraki).
- Relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP/JNCIA/SD-WAN/Wireless) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of Routing, Switching, and networking protocols.
- Familiarity with interface configuration and WAN link termination scenarios.
- Excellent understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
