Summary: The role of Network Engineer/IT Support Engineer is an entry-level position based in Chesterfield, requiring full-time onsite presence. The engineer will support a multi-year program by delivering repair and build services for customer and internal inventory, with a focus on Cisco technologies and networking fundamentals. Hands-on experience with hardware and troubleshooting in residential network environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform warranty and break-fix repairs on laptops, desktops, switches, routers, and printers
- Install operating systems via SCCM, PXE, and USB
- Configure equipment using SSH, Telnet, and Putty
- Conduct BIOS and firmware updates across various manufacturers
- Support Active Directory and troubleshoot OS issues (Windows 7/8/10, Linux)
- Manage encryption technologies (BitLocker, McAfee Drive Encryption)
- Collaborate with internal departments and build strong relationships with Service Desk and Field Engineering teams
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Cisco networking technologies
- Hands-on experience with hardware (HPI/HPE/Lenovo/Dell/Cisco/Draytek)
- Familiarity with residential networking setups is a plus
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and configuration tools
