Summary: The Network Engineer role involves designing, developing, and maintaining secure networks while collaborating with team members to resolve technical issues. The position requires a strong understanding of network administration, architecture, and performance monitoring. The engineer will be responsible for deploying networks, configuring devices, and ensuring network security. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the enterprise's networking infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Configure, maintain and install software, switches, routers and other network devices
  • Monitor network performance and integrity
  • Resolve technical issues, often collaborating across teams to troubleshoot, resolve and determine root cause
  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
  • Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
  • Communicate with users and customers
  • Maintain complete technical documentation
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability

Key Skills:

  • Industry-related experience as a Network Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of Azure networking best practices, including hybrid connectivity and routing
  • Solid background in network topology and administration
  • Solid understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, EIGRP)
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds / Auvik network tools)
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS)
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • BS/BA/AD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
