We're looking for a proactive and skilled Network Engineer to support both day-to-day operations and strategic projects within our IT infrastructure. This role plays a key part in maintaining secure, high-performing networks while ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting collaborative delivery across teams and vendors.
Your responsibilities as a Network Engineer:
- Install, configure, and maintain core network components including Switches, Routers, and wireless access points
- Perform routine BAU tasks such as cable patching, VLAN setup, and ACL configuration
- Implement and manage Radius authentication and Aruba networking solutions
- Monitor network health and resolve complex performance and connectivity issues
- Apply firmware updates and security patches in line with NHS cyber security protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation and IT asset records
- Work closely with the Digital Services team and external partners to deliver network-related projects
- Ensure adherence to Cyber Essentials+, DSP Toolkit, and ISO27001 compliance frameworks
As a suitable Network Engineer, you will have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Aruba networking technologies
- Solid understanding of Radius, ACLs, and network security protocols
- Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) or Aruba certifications preferred
- Familiarity with Firewall platforms such as Fortinet and Checkpoint
- Proven ability to manage both operational and project-based network tasks
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
