Summary: The Network Engineer role focuses on implementing and supporting security solutions to meet corporate requirements, configuring and troubleshooting network firewalls, and collaborating with various teams to deliver network security services. The position also involves managing firewall systems, analyzing security challenges, and maintaining security protocols. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in network security design and firewall management, particularly with application-based firewalls. Strong communication skills and relevant certifications are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support security solutions that meet corporate security requirements.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network firewalls to ensure optimal network security.
  • Collaborate with Security team partners, Business Relationship Managers, and Field IT leadership.
  • Drive and develop automation opportunities for security infrastructure management.
  • Manage and maintain firewall systems for optimal performance and security.
  • Analyze and propose creative solutions for operational security challenges.
  • Apply system patches and perform periodic maintenance on security systems.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for security solution implementations.
  • Communicate progress to company leadership and program collaborators.
  • Participate in meetings and working groups related to the evolving security environment.
  • Design and administer Zero Trust Network Policy across multiple platforms.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience working in a security team.
  • Extensive experience with network security design and firewall management.
  • Deep experience in deploying application-based firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Proficiency in multiple security technologies, including NGFW and NAC.
  • Solid knowledge of Layer 2-7 protocols and technologies.
  • Understanding of routing, security protocols, ACLs, and Intrusion Prevention Systems.
  • Experience with open-source network scanning tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of one or more scripting languages.
  • Certifications such as PCNSA, CISSP, or SANS GCIH.
