Summary: The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure in a secure and high-performance environment. This role includes managing network systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring operational excellence. The position requires on-site work in Newport for a duration of six months. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK without visa restrictions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement network solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and security.
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including Routers, Switches, SDWAN, wireless networks, and OOB systems.
- Configure routing, switching, and wireless technologies to meet organizational standards.
- Analyze network performance metrics, identify vulnerabilities, and resolve outages or inefficiencies.
- Execute system updates, including patches, service packs, and security configurations.
- Maintain network diagrams, technical records, and performance reports.
Key Skills:
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and virtualization (AWS, Azure, VMware).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a hands-on network engineer.
- Strong understanding of network operating systems (eg, Cisco IOS, Wireless, SilverPeak).
- Expertise in protocols such as IPSEC, BGP, OSPF, and QoS.
- Experience with network security principles and diagnostic tools (eg, SolarWinds, Cacti).
- CCNP certification or higher.
