Summary: The role of Network Security Engineer involves supporting a Data Center consolidation project and ongoing security operations primarily in the UK. The engineer will implement and maintain security solutions, manage firewalls, and collaborate with various teams to ensure effective security service delivery. The position requires extensive experience in network security and a strong understanding of various security protocols and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain security solutions in line with corporate standards.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Prisma, Zscaler).
- Design and administer Zero Trust policies, network segmentation, and security rules.
- Manage IDS/IPS, NAC, WAF, and apply system patches/updates.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, security teams, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of security services.
- Identify automation opportunities and maintain SOPs for security solutions.
Key Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience in network security roles.
- Strong expertise in firewall management and intrusion detection/prevention.
- Deep knowledge of L2–L7 protocols, ACLs, routing, and security protocols.
- Experience with NGFW, NAC, IDS/IPS, and SSL inspection.
- Basic scripting skills; certifications such as PCNSA, SANS GCIH preferred.
