Summary: The Senior Network Engineer role involves supporting a major network transformation programme for a leading financial services organisation in Manchester, UK. The position requires extensive experience in network engineering, focusing on enterprise networking projects within a regulated banking environment. The engineer will collaborate with global teams to modernise and enhance complex network infrastructure, ensuring secure and compliant data flows. This is a hybrid role with a contract duration of 12 months, starting ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute enterprise network deployment and migration activities.
  • Support application migration across network environments.
  • Configure, implement, and support Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE platforms.
  • Deploy and manage firewall technologies including Fortinet, Juniper, and Cisco solutions.
  • Ensure secure and compliant data flows across firewalled environments.
  • Work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues and optimise network performance.
  • Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
  • Ensure adherence to security, governance, and operational standards.
  • Support transition and handover into BAU operations.

Key Skills:

  • 10+ years of Network Engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in TCP/IP and Ethernet technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE platforms.
  • Experience managing Fortinet, Juniper, and Cisco firewall solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and other IGP routing protocols.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale network deployment and migration projects.
  • Experience working within secure enterprise environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Desirable Experience: Python scripting and network automation exposure.
  • Financial Services or Banking sector experience.
