Summary: The Network Engineer role focuses on replacing 50 end-of-life network switches in EMEA co-location sites, requiring hands-on experience with network devices and strong communication skills. The position involves preconfiguring devices, coordinating migrations, and managing project progress. The ideal candidate should have a professional-level understanding of networking concepts and experience in the financial sector is advantageous. This is a contract position for 6 months, starting on 18/05/2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete the replacement of 50 end-of-life network switches in EMEA co-lo sites.
- Preconfigure devices in the lab.
- Work with remote hands to rack devices.
- Raise changes to communicate with stakeholders and obtain approval for migration.
- Migrate connections from old to new devices on agreed weekends with remote hands.
- Perform necessary checks and be ready for start-of-week checks on Sundays.
- Coordinate to decommission, un-rack, and dispose of old equipment.
- Keep track of progress in a centralized tracking sheet.
Key Skills:
- Professional-level working knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, BGP routing, PIM routing, STP, route maps, access lists).
- Practical hands-on experience with network routers and switches.
- Experience with Arista and Cisco switches.
- Experience in the financial sector is a plus.
- Experience managing projects end-to-end is a plus.
- Working-level knowledge of Ansible and other tooling.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Provide a network engineer to complete the replacement of 50 end of life network switches in the EMEA co-lo sites.
- Preconfigure devices in the lab
- Work with remote hands to rack devices
- Raise changes to communicate with stakeholders and obtain approval for the migration in an agreed window
- Migrate connections from old to new devices on agreed weekend with remote hands.
- Perform necessary checks and be ready for start of week checks on Sunday should any issues arise.
- Coordinate to decom, un-rack, and dispose of old kit
- Keep track of progress in our centralized tracking sheet.
Candidate will possess a good attitude, work well with others, and an energetic approach to drive the project to completion, overcoming any obstacles in the way. Strong communication is important.
