Summary: The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the company's network infrastructure, focusing on troubleshooting, automation, and continuous improvement. This role requires hands-on experience in enterprise networks and involves leading complex issue resolutions, project implementations, and performance monitoring. The engineer will also contribute to documentation, mentorship, and strategic planning for new technologies. A strong emphasis is placed on developing automation tools and ensuring reliable disaster recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the resolution of complex network issues impacting performance, access, or availability across global sites.
- Deliver network onboarding and enhancement projects, including data center and site integrations.
- Proactively monitor LAN, WAN, and wireless performance, resolving bottlenecks and optimizing throughput.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and contribute to process improvements.
- Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline network operations and reduce manual tasks.
- Support changes in data center environments and site networks in coordination with IT teams.
- Share expertise with junior team members and support knowledge transfer initiatives.
- Contribute to planning and evaluating new technologies that improve the network landscape.
- Ensure backup procedures and recovery processes are reliable and tested regularly.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP required; Cloud (AWS, Azure), ITIL, or Project Management certifications preferred.
- Expertise with Cisco (Routing, Switching, Nexus, ACI, Firepower), Zscaler, Checkpoint, Brocade, and Tufin.
- Familiarity with SDN, SD-WAN, and SASE architectures.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Experience with Windows and Linux-based environments.
- Proven experience supporting and implementing network infrastructure using Cisco and Checkpoint technologies.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of complex network issues, including collaboration with cross-functional and vendor teams.
- Experience designing and deploying Tufin-based network access controls.
