Network Engineer

Summary: The Network Engineer role focuses on driving network automation initiatives and managing critical projects such as hybrid cloud implementations and data centre deployments. The position requires adaptability to emerging technologies and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Candidates should possess strong technical skills and a commitment to best practices in software development and network security. This is an urgent contract position based in London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify challenges, gather requirements, and deliver innovative solutions to complex issues
• Build and maintain secure, scalable systems using a diverse range of technologies and tools
• Champion the use of automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD methodologies
• Promote Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices within the team, ensuring security is embedded into development workflows without hindering productivity

Key Skills:

• CCNP minimum qualified network engineer
• In-depth knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) for routing and network design
• Network design certification (CCDP) or higher is a bonus
• Engineer-level experience in operating and building enterprise-level networks
• Strong background working with Cisco IOS-XR, Cisco NX-OS, and/or Arista EOS routers and switches
• Experience with WAN networks, preferably OTN
• Previous work with Juniper and/or Nokia routers is a plus
• Familiarity with Day-1 deployment and Day-2 network management through Ansible and Python preferred
• Experience in a service provider environment is advantageous
• Exposure to trading-related networks
• Knowledge or experience with low-latency networks is a nice to have
