Summary: The Network Engineer role in London is a 1-month initial contract with the potential for extension. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver customer solutions across network, connectivity, and security environments to agreed designs, timelines, and quality standards.
- Produce clear low-level designs and implementation plans that enable consistent, right-first-time delivery.
- Own the delivery life cycle from design through to implementation and transition into live operations.
- Configure and deploy network infrastructure including Firewalls, VPNs, routing, WAN, and LAN/WLAN solutions.
- Manage technical change during delivery, ensuring impact to cost, effort, and timelines is understood and controlled.
- Maintain accurate documentation and system records to support ongoing service management.
- Collaborate across Sales, Solutions, Project Office, and Support teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Provide escalation support to the Service Desk for complex technical issues and out of hours on-call on a rota basis.
- Contribute to service improvement, standardisation, and automation initiatives.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer outcomes, quality delivery, and minimal early life failures.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, WLAN, Firewall, and VPN technologies.
- Working knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and core networking principles.
- Ability to translate designs and requirements into implementable technical solutions.
- Experience delivering solutions from design through to implementation.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco (ASA, IOS XR, Meraki) and Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiSwitch) network and security platforms in a delivery or service provider environment.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA and Fortinet certifications are desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
