Summary: The Network Engineer role involves designing and implementing network infrastructure to ensure information integrity and availability. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement functional network infrastructure (routing, switching, Wi-Fi).
- Work alongside the UC team on Microsoft Teams solutions.
- Support migration of on-prem Cisco UC infrastructure to cloud solutions.
- Implement QoS and manage Wide Area Network capacity planning and upgrades.
- Rollout Cisco ThousandEyes monitoring across the network.
- Troubleshoot network issues and outages, schedule upgrades.
- Collaborate with network architects on optimization.
- Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
- Report network operational status and manage routing and switching projects.
- Provide technical support and consultation for IT and end-user departments.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer focusing on routing, switching, Cisco WiFi.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., QoS, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, 802.11, 802.1x, IPSEC).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and network diagnostic tools including Cisco ThousandEyes.
- Knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN, SD-Access, Catalysts Center, and ISE.
- Network firewall policy administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with automation/scripting and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- University degree in Computer Science or a related subject.
- Professional certification (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) preferred.
