Summary: A Network Engineer is needed for a public sector client in Bradford, requiring solid networking experience and a collaborative approach to support critical infrastructure. The role involves hands-on support for LAN/WAN infrastructure and troubleshooting Cisco equipment. The position is on-site and offers a daily rate for a duration of four months. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support for LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple sites
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco Switches and Routers
- Assist with Firewall rule changes and basic policy management (Palo Alto or similar)
- Support VPN and remote access solutions
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts using tools like SolarWinds or PRTG
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes
- Participate in change and incident management processes
Key Skills:
- Experience in network support or engineering roles
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and network diagnostics
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNA-level knowledge)
- Exposure to Palo Alto Firewalls and/or Cisco ISE to implement wired and wireless network access control and micro segmentation
- Experience with Fibre and copper cable management (datacentre clean ups)
- Familiarity with NAC solutions and enterprise network security practices
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
