Summary: The role of Contract Network Engineer focuses on deploying, configuring, and supporting Juniper network devices for enterprise clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and support Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g., SRX, EX, MX series)
- Work across routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and static routing
- Perform Layer 2/3 troubleshooting and manage VLANs, STP, and IP addressing
- Implement security policies, firewall rules, and VPN configurations
- Support network monitoring and diagnostics using tools such as Junos CLI, Wireshark, and Syslog/SNMP
- Assist in the delivery of infrastructure projects and changes within enterprise environments
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Juniper devices (Junos OS)
- Solid understanding of core routing and switching protocols
- Experience with Juniper SRX firewalls, security zones, and VPNs
- Comfortable in an enterprise network or managed services environment
- Ability to write and troubleshoot Junos configurations
- JNCIA or JNCIS certification highly desirable
- JNCP, JNCIA or JNCIS certified
- Experience in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
- Knowledge of automation or scripting (e.g., Ansible, Python)
- Familiarity with Juniper Contrail or Mist platforms
