Summary: The role is for a Contract Network Engineer specializing in Defence projects, specifically focused on building network solutions from scratch. Key Responsibilities:
- Work on building network solutions from scratch for Defence consultancy projects.
- Collaborate with a team of technology professionals on MOD/Defence projects.
- Ensure compliance with security clearance requirements (SC Level).
- Implement and manage networking routing protocols, including OSPF.
- Handle VPNs and network security measures.
- Develop high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD).
- Utilize experience with data centre network architecture and infrastructure automation.
Key Skills:
- Experience in secure environments (Defence/MOD/government).
- Proficiency in network engineering with WAN/LAN.
- Knowledge of networking routing protocols, particularly OSPF.
- Experience with VPNs and network security.
- Ability to create high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD).
- Familiarity with data centre network architecture and high assurance IP encryptors.
- Experience with infrastructure automation and Whitebox network infrastructure.
- NSX and Cisco CCNP certification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cryptology and cryptography is helpful.

Contract Network Engineer, Outside IR35, £500 per day, Farnborough
Contract position at a Defence consultancy, outside IR35 for a specialist network engineer to work on building something from scratch. This is working amongst a team of other technology professionals on an MOD/Defence project, from Farnborough.
PLEASE NOTE - The nature of this project will require the work to be carried out onsite and successful candidates will be required to be security cleared (SC Level) prior to appointment.
Experience required:
- Secure environment (Defence/MOD/government etc)
- Network Engineering with WAN/LAN etc.
- Networking routing protocols - Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
- VPNS and Network Security
- HLD/LLD
If you also have experience with Data centre network architecture, high assurance IP encryptors Infrastructure automation, Whitebox network infrastructure, NSX, Cisco CCNP certified - that would all be great. Any experience with Cryptology and cryptography would be helpful.
