Summary: The role of Data Center Network Engineer focuses on migrating legacy Cisco network technology to Arista solutions for a global bank. The position requires in-depth experience with Arista and strong VXLAN EVPN skills within a data center network environment. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network architectures while performing day-to-day administration and troubleshooting. Occasional weekend work is expected during migration phases, with a hybrid working arrangement based in London, Surrey, or Cheshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust and scalable datacentre network architectures using Cisco and Arista solutions.
- Configure Layer 2/3 networking protocols, VLANs, STP, VxLAN, BGP, OSPF, and EVPN.
- Perform day-to-day network administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in datacentre environments.
- Work on a large migration project, transitioning from Legacy Cisco to Arista network technology.
- Occasional weekend work required during migrations.
- Collaborate in multi-vendor environments, spanning both Cisco and Arista technologies.
Key Skills:
- In-depth experience with Arista networking technology.
