Summary: The role of Network Engineer involves joining a long-term transformation program focused on enhancing network security and performance across multiple sites in Scotland. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching, as well as Palo Alto Firewalls. This position is critical for maintaining a secure and reliable network infrastructure. The contract is for 6 months with a strong potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Routers and Switches
- Implement and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls, including policy updates and threat prevention features
- Collaborate with InfoSec and project teams during security upgrades and network transitions
- Participate in project-based deployments, migrations, and security improvements
- Ensure network reliability and uptime through proactive monitoring and issue resolution
Key Skills:
- Based in Scotland
- Strong experience with Cisco Routing & Switching (IOS, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, NAT, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, including configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Experience supporting large-scale or multi-site environments

This role is critical in supporting secure, high-performing network infrastructure across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco routing & switching and Palo Alto Firewalls.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 6 months (with strong potential for extension)
- Day Rate: £400 - £450
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
- Location: Hybrid - Glasgow/Aberdeen
