Summary: The Network Engineer role is a 12-month contract position based in Sheffield, focusing on the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure network infrastructures. Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure to support various projects
• Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve network issues efficiently
• Work closely with network architects, software developers, and operations teams to align networking objectives with business goals
• Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software issues
• Implement and manage network security measures, including firewall configurations and policy enforcement
• Utilise network monitoring tools to proactively identify and mitigate potential issues
• Develop and test network automation scripts using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs

Key Skills:

• Strong understanding of IP routing, TCP/IP, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
• Network automation experience using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs
• Experience with virtual network environments such as Cisco ACI and NSX
• Hands-on experience in network security, with a focus on firewall design and implementation
• Knowledge of containerised environments and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes (a plus)
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to document and share technical insights
