Role Summary
Engineering-led Network Designer responsible for creating the gold-standard Cisco network blueprints that underpin all campus deployments globally.
Owns the engineering design standards, low-level designs (LLDs), routing architecture, and technical blueprints that Solution Architects use as repeatable "Lego blocks" to build site-specific solutions.
This is a nuts-and-bolts Cisco engineering role, focused on design depth rather than solution architecture breadth.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Design Ownership
Own and maintain Cisco network blueprints and engineering standards.
Develop reusable reference architectures for all campus environments.
Create implementation-ready Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
Define standards independent of site size or location.
Act as technical design authority for Cisco campus networking.
Core Cisco Design
Core switching architecture design.
Campus LAN design.
Enterprise Wi-Fi design.
Routing and switching architecture.
Network segmentation and security zoning.
High availability, resilience, and failover design.
Define standard configurations and build patterns.
Routing & Network Engineering
Expert knowledge of:
BGP
OSPF
EIGRP
IS-IS
HSRP
Route Redistribution
Layer 2/Layer 3 design
STP and network protection mechanisms
Tooling & Visibility
