Summary: The IP Network Designer role focuses on designing and supporting IP network infrastructure, particularly in large-scale service provider environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high & low-level IP network designs
  • Design and support DNS/DHCP platforms (Infoblox preferred)
  • Ensure network scalability, resilience & performance
  • Support service migrations and new service integration
  • Review vendor releases, bugs, and security advisories
  • Work closely with vendors, architecture, and operations teams
  • Own documentation: HLDs, LLDs, test plans, implementation plans

Key Skills:

  • Strong IP networking background (service provider preferred)
  • Proven DNS & DHCP experience (recent, hands-on)
  • Experience with Infoblox (or similar DNS platforms)
  • Solid knowledge of IP protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco and/or Juniper
  • Experience producing network design documentation
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Background in telecoms / mobile network operator environments (highly desirable)
  • Experience with RADIUS, QoS, DNS architecture (highly desirable)
  • Exposure to large-scale migrations and transformation projects (highly desirable)

Up to £530/day (Umbrella)

We are working with our client on a brand-new opportunity for an IP Network Designer / Technical Design Authority (TDA) to join their Connectivity Engineering team. This is a critical role focused on IP network design across large-scale service provider environments, with a strong emphasis on DNS (Infoblox) and modern IP infrastructure.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, evolving, and supporting the IP network estate, including:

  • Mobile MPLS Core
  • Data centres & internet connectivity
  • Remote access platforms
  • Large-scale enterprise network infrastructure

This is a design-heavy role, not just operations, ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, architecture input, and solving complex network challenges.
