Summary: The Network Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network and communication systems crucial for airport operations. This role involves working with various technologies, including telecommunications, CCTV, WLAN, and emerging solutions like 5G. The engineer will ensure compliance with security standards and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver effective solutions. This is a six-month contract position based in Heathrow, London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive network designs focusing on reliability, scalability, and future growth.
- Implement network infrastructure and work on fiber-optic and structured cabling solutions.
- Design and implement telecom systems, managing telephony, VoIP, and emergency communication systems.
- Design and deploy large-scale IP-based CCTV surveillance systems across the airport.
- Support and manage high-capacity data transport networks using OTN for scalable airport operations.
- Implement and support radio systems (UHF/VHF) for air traffic control and emergency services.
- Ensure all systems adhere to security standards and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with airport authorities, contractors, and vendors to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of designs, configurations, and implementation procedures.
Key Skills:
- Experience in network design and implementation.
- Knowledge of telecommunications systems, including VoIP and emergency communication.
- Familiarity with CCTV and security systems design.
- Understanding of Optical Transport Network (OTN) technology.
- Experience with radio communication systems (UHF/VHF).
