Summary: The Network / Cloud Lead will oversee the transition of network and data centre services for a FTSE 250 client, requiring hands-on technical leadership and strategic planning. This role involves validating technical solutions, executing transition plans, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure a smooth migration. The position demands strong problem-solving skills and experience in cloud platforms and networking technologies. Occasional travel to the Manchester office is required as part of a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and validate proposed technical solutions for network and data centre transition.
  • Develop and execute transition plans, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Act as the technical authority, providing guidance and oversight for the project.
  • Lead and support the implementation of tooling solutions for monitoring, security, and automation.
  • Ensure data residency requirements are met and maintained throughout the transition.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineers, security specialists, and infrastructure teams.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with migration and transition activities.
  • Provide technical leadership in resolving challenges and optimising the new infrastructure.
  • Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer to operational teams.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in leading network and cloud migration or data centre transition projects.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and network infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with networking technologies, including SD-WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with automation, monitoring, and security tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Splunk, etc.).
  • Understanding of data residency and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to project execution.

Salary (Rate): £550
