Summary: The role of Network Automation Developer - Cisco NSO involves working for a large consultancy on a 12-month contract primarily remote, with one site visit to Hammersmith, London, per week. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate network services using Cisco NSO.
- Utilize networking skills including L2 VPN, L3 VPN, EVPN, MPLS, SR, LDP, BGP, and IGP.
- Implement workflows using tools like Itential IAP.
- Model services in Yang and work with XML/JSON/YAML.
- Employ NETCONF/REST/RESTCONF/SOAP protocols.
- Use source control tools such as GitLab.
- Work with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Visualize customer requirements into automatable steps and diagrams.
- Apply agile methodologies, particularly scrum.
- Utilize CI/CD development approaches and manage databases using SQL and NoSQL.
Key Skills:
- Strong networking skills (L2 VPN, L3 VPN, EVPN, MPLS, SR, LDP, BGP, IGP).
- Experience with Cisco NSO service creation.
- Proficiency in Unix (REHL, Centos).
- Python coding skills.
- Service modeling in Yang.

My client, a large consultancy, is in need of a Network Automation Developer - Cisco NSO, for a 12 month contract inside IR35 mainly remote, with 1 site visit to Hammersmith, London, per week (negotiable).
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in networking skill (L2 VPN, L3 VPN, EVPN, MPLS, SR, LDP, BGP and IGP), Cisco NSO service creation (services and actions), Experience using workflow engine example Itential IAP, Competent in Unix (REHL, Centos), Python coding skills, Competent at service modelling in Yang, Competent in XML/JSON/YAML, Working knowledge NETCONF/REST/RESTCONF/SOAP, Working knowledge of Source control tools eg, GitLab, Working knowledge of containerisation (Docker Kubernetes), Ability to visualise customer requirements into a sequence of automatable steps (sequence diagram workflow diagram Jira stories), Working appreciation of agile methodologies (scrum), Familiar with using CI/CD development approach, working knowledge of using database SQL and NoSQL eg, Mongo.
