Network Architect
Summary: The role of Network Architect involves joining a high-profile MOD programme to deliver secure, mission-critical network capabilities. This hands-on position requires extensive technical expertise in modern data centre and wide area networking technologies. The successful candidate will design, assure, and evolve complex network architectures within a highly secure environment. The role is based on-site in Hampshire and is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop secure network architectures for enterprise and defence environments.
- Produce high and low-level network designs, technical documentation and implementation plans.
- Lead network architecture decisions across data centre, campus and WAN environments.
- Provide technical assurance and governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with engineering, security and delivery teams to ensure successful deployment of network solutions.
- Support troubleshooting and optimisation of complex network infrastructures.
Key Skills:
- Active DV Clearance.
- Proven experience operating as a Network Architect within complex enterprise or defence environments.
- Strong expertise in:
- BGP
- EVPN-VXLAN
- Software Defined Networking (SDN)
- WAN Architecture and Design
- Experience with modern data centre networking technologies and architectures.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and secure-by-design approaches.
- Ability to produce detailed technical designs and architecture documentation.
- Experience working within large-scale transformation or infrastructure programmes.
- Experience delivering solutions within MOD.
Salary (Rate): £700 daily
