Summary: The Network Architect role in Aberdeen, Scotland, involves leading the technical design and delivery of network infrastructure for enterprise build and transformation programs. The position requires extensive experience in Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, and enterprise-class network security. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating network designs, implementing enterprise networks, and providing operational support. This is an onsite position for a duration of 6 months, classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design for network infrastructure across new facility builds, expansions, relocations, co-locations, and separations.
- Create high-level and low-level network designs aligned with client infrastructure standards.
- Design and deploy enterprise networks including LAN, WLAN, WAN, SD-WAN (VeloCloud), Cisco Routers & Switches, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers & Access Points, Palo Alto Firewalls, Load Balancers (F5 or equivalent), and Cisco ACI.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BoM) based on approved designs and site layouts.
- Produce configuration, migration, and cutover plans.
- Support site surveys, installation, configuration, modernization, and sustainment of global enterprise networks.
- Provide SME-level guidance during troubleshooting, service transitions, and system upgrades.
- Ensure high availability, security, and performance across all network platforms.
Key Skills:
- 10–15 years in enterprise network design, architecture, and implementation.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Cisco ACI, SD-WAN (VeloCloud preferred), Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco WLAN (Controllers, APs), LAN/WAN/WLAN architecture, Palo Alto Firewalls, and Load Balancers (e.g., F5).
- Experience preparing BoMs, network diagrams, and configuration documents.
- Strong understanding of network segmentation, security, and high-availability design.
- Ability to work onsite in Aberdeen and support complex global network environments.
